This is an introductory video where I talk about myself and also about a few points related to this course.
In this video, we'll be taking our first warm-up shot. Even though we haven't begun the process of really learning DSLR photography, taking this shot will do wonders for your confidence as it will get you comfortable with some important settings.
In this video, we'll be seeing how to attach and detach a DSLR lens to the body of the camera.
In this video we'll be seeing what focal length is and how different lenses with different focal lengths ca help us achieve different types of shots.
In this video, we'll be going through the two types of focusing methods - Auto-focus and Manual Focus and seeing how they work with a small exercise. We'll also be talking about which method is superior and why.
In this video, we'll get started with learning manual mode usage by learning how to locate and change the values of Shutter Speed, Aperture and ISO.
A preliminary video for our section on ISO
In this video we'll be seeing what ISO is by understanding how a DSLR camera works. Then we'll be seeing what happens when we shoot at different ISO values.
In this video, we'll be doing an exercise to see the effect of ISO on our shot in terms of noise.
In this video, we'll be seeing how the light meter works and how we can use ISO to change its reading.
In this video, we'll be seeing what a shutter is and how it works inside a DSLR camera. This will in turn enable us to understand the concept of shutter speed.
In this video, we'll be learning how using different values of shutter speeds impacts the exposure of the shot that we're taking.
In this video, we'll start understanding the impact of using different shutter speeds on moving subjects. Here, we'll be starting off by seeing what a fast shutter speed does to our subject.
Here, we'll be seeing what a slow shutter speed does to a moving subject.
In this video, we'll be performing an exercise where we'll be taking two different shots - one at a fast shutter speed and one at a slower shutter speed, to see the difference it creates on our subject.
In this video, we'll do an exercise where we'll burst a water balloon and capture it using a very fast shutter speed to freeze the moment where the balloon just got pricked and retained its shape.
In this video, we'll be seeing how to capture the movement of light (light painting) by using a slow shutter speed.
In this video we'll be learning what aperture is and what relationship it has with the f-stop number on our camera.
In this video we'll be learning about one of the most important concepts in photography,i.e, Depth of Field. We'll see what depth of field refers to, how it is related to the aperture and how we can use it to either blur the background or or keep everything in focus in our shots.
In this video we'll see how different lenses are named and how they are related to the f-stop number or Aperture.
In this video we'll be learning about an important rule called the Reciprocal Rule which will help us prevent camera shake and then we'll also be performing a simple exercise for Aperture where we'll be taking two shots, one in which we blur the background and one in which we keep the background in focus.
In this video, we'll be performing a portrait exercise to see what are the three different steps that go into taking a good portrait in which the background is effectively blurred.
In this video, we'll be taking a more detailed look into the light meter to understand how it is affected by the different settings and the ambient light. This will pave the way towards understanding why the tripod is so important.
In this video, we'll be looking at the basic anatomy of a tripod and then following it up with a very important exercise to see how to use the tripod to take shots which have no noise.
In this video, we'll be seeing why a tripod is very crucial when it comes to taking shots that involve a slow shutter speed usage.
In this video, we'll be learning about a very important setting/function called Auto-ISO. We'll be seeing how Auto-ISO can enable us to make our photography really fast and easy.
In this video we'll be seeing that sometimes shooting with the light meter in the center can result in images in which the exposure is not to our liking. To get a more accurate exposure, we can use the functions of exposure compensation and metering modes as shown in the video.
In this video, we'll be seeing how we can use the setting of White Balance to correct color casts in our shots.
In this video, we'll be learning about a very important rule of composition called the rule of thirds and then we'll be seeing how the technique of focus and recompose and can help us achieve shots which follow a rule of thirds composition.
In this video, we'll be seeing why using a flash is important in photography and understanding the concept behind its usage.
In this video, we'll be performing an exercise to see what happens when we take a shot with and without flash. We'll find that using flash helps us to shoot a noise-free image because of a lower ISO.
In this video, we'll be seeing how bouncing the external flash off the wall or ceiling can improve the lighting on our subject and create a much more flattering look for our subject as opposed to firing the flash straight at the subject.
In this video we'll be learning how to use wireless radio triggers to sync our camera and flash so we can fire the flash off-camera. We'll be following that up with a small exercise to demonstrate the creative prowess of using the flash off-camera in enhancing our shots.
In this video, we'll be learning the basics of landscape photography and then we'll be seeing how to form a HDR image by blending in multiple exposures in a HDR software.
In this video, we'll be learning the basics of landscape photography and then we'll be seeing how to form a HDR image by blending in multiple exposures in a HDR software.

Have you always wanted to learn photography but had no idea where to go or where to start from? Or maybe you have tried learning on your own through YouTube or blogs but got tired of jumping from one video to another without actually learning everything from A to Z in one place? Well then you've come to the right place. The days of painfully researching stuff on your own are over because this course puts everything together in ONE PLACE.
This is a comprehensive course that teaches you the art of DSLR Photography, even if you have never used a DSLR camera before. Every thing is taught from scratch, assuming that you have no prior knowledge.
We start from learning the basic settings and functions that every beginner should know. These are shown through a lot of demos and exercises which facilitate practical learning of the subject.
Once you have the basics down, we move to the more advanced and technical part related to the learning the manual mode. Here we spend a lot of time on learning the three important settings that form a part of any type of photography - Aperture, Shutter Speed and ISO. There are dedicated and comprehensive sections for each of these settings that break them down into simple steps through demos, exercises and actual image examples.
Once manual mode is done, we go on and learn about the some advanced settings and functions that make photography easier and stress free so you won't slow down when it comes to applying the manual mode. This is a vital section since this will take the fear out of photography and make you fall in love with it because what you'll find is that even on the manual mode, you are shooting as quickly and easily as people do on the automatic mode.
We learn about the different important accessories like the tripod through multiple exercises and demos that show you its importance.
Then comes flash photography, where we learn the usage of flash so you can take shots in low-light environment. We do this via learning the usage of the external flash (speedlight).
Then we can go onto Landscape and HDR photography where you'll learn how to create those surreal looking landscape images that you see on the Instagram profiles of your favorite photographers. We'll be seeing how we can use Photomatix to blend in multiple exposures to enhance the dynamic range of our shots.
Then we'll move on to the most exciting part of the course - Long exposure photography, where you'll be learning how to shoot silky looking waterfalls and light trails, the two most popular types of shots in the history of photography.
Finally, we'll be rounding things off by learning some of the basics of editing and post-processing in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
This is a one-stop photography course which covers everything you need to know if you are starting out. I have come up with a very efficient way of teaching so you can avoid anything that is not necessary in actually producing good shots and more importantly, doing this course will ensure you don't jump around from one video to another on YouTube trying to learn and figure out everything on your own.
I teach photography for a living and this efficient method of learning that you will get is a result of fine tuning my teaching methods and learning from having taught thousands of students in my photography workshops that I've been regularly conducting since December, 2014.
I hope I get a chance to teach you this beautiful art and see you inside this course :)
