OK. Once the page has loaded you can select the appropriate Khalili next image that you wish to download. So I prefer to install from an I as go image and I do not like using these VM images so in my example I generally install Kelly Linux Lite. So for me I would be installing from the following ISO. However if you would like the full image you can go ahead and select the Kelly Linux KDE 64 bit. Or you could also select the Kelly Linux X FC e 64 bit and these are just different windows managers. So if you have a preference feel free to select your preference. If you do not does it matter just go ahead and download Kelly Linux 64 bit and that'll get you started. OK so once you have that done let's go ahead and create our virtual machine. Now here I'm using VM where workstation. But the process is basically exactly the same in virtual box. Someone to go ahead and create a new virtual machine. I'm just going to select the typical options and I'm going to select the iso image of Cally and Linux so I'll have that here and I will now click next. Then from here I'm going to select the operating system as Linux and leave it as Ubuntu and go ahead and name this Kali test. And if you want to save your virtual machine in a different location feel free to do that here. I'm just going to leave the default and click. Next I'm going to leave the default for my disk as 20 gigabytes and click next. Now once that's done I'm going to go ahead and click finish now from here. I'm going to change my memory going to bump that up to 4 gigabytes and I will leave everything else as default. And then I'll go ahead and start the virtual machine. All right from here I'll go ahead and select graphical install all right. Go ahead select your language select your location and select your keyboard layout. Now you can give your system a hostname. Going to call this one Calleigh test and you can give it a domain name if you like. I'm just going to leave it as is. So now you want to go ahead and set up your root password. Is going to give mine the root password of Tor and then click continue. OK go ahead and select your time zone then click continue ok. I recommend using guided use the entire disk. Then click Continue. Go ahead and click continue. And again I'm going to put all files in one partition so once that's done it's going to verify that everything looks correct and it does. So I'll click continue. And select yes to finalize the changes and write them to the disk but this point's going to go ahead and partition your hard disk and it's going to and start installing Kali Linux this will take a little time so I'll go ahead and speed up the video. Now if you're connected to a network go ahead and select yes and click continue. But to keep this video short I'm just gonna go ahead and select no OK. Now it's going to install the bootloader. Keep that out yes and click continue. You're going to select Dev SD a then click continue. All right. Now the installation is complete. So go ahead and click continue. All right. So now it's log in with our root account. Now if you're losing using the light version go ahead and select use default config. And we are now booted into Cali Linux. Now there's few things you want to do first. Let's go ahead and open up a terminal and let's edit the app to source lists. So go to Etsy at sources dot list. Now if you're using the full version of Carly this should already be set up for you. But if you're using a light like I am you to go ahead and add the following. This will ensure that you have the rolling Carly at list so you can update your packages and keep them up to date and install any new packages that you decide. Desire brides let's go ahead and save that control X and then press Y and then enter. All right now we can update apt by typing apt. UPDATE And at this point you can type at upgrade and upgrade all of your packages. Now for brevity I'm going to go ahead and skip this but I highly recommend you do so. All right. But I am going to install the following package. Again this is only necessary for the light version if you're using the full version of Carly. These tools will already be installed. In addition to net tools you also want to install the zip package all right. Now once that is complete you want to install the VM where tools or virtual box tools. So go ahead and click that and click install this will then mount the VM where tools to your system. And from there you can then install that. So we'll install additional driver so you can have a better experience with using Carly. It'll enable things like copying and pasting from your host to your guest system as well as installing drivers so you can change the display size so we'll go ahead. Double click that to open it and then I'm going to copy this package file then I will go to my file system and I'll just copy that to the temp directory. And my terminal. I'll then browse through the temp directory where I can see the file. So we'll go ahead and extract it using TAA space Z X the F and the file name. And that will then extract that compressed tar file. Now I'm going to change to the VM whereas tool directory and inside there there is this VM where dash install script something to go ahead and run that script and then I'm just going to select all the default options. Now if you have any specific options that are appropriate for your situation by all means change them but the defaults will work just fine otherwise. So I'm just going to keep hitting enter to select all the defaults all right. At this point I'm going to go ahead and reboot the system with a reboot command go ahead and log in and as you can see it automatically fullscreen our installation. So we have the appropriate video drivers. Now we can also copy and paste to and from our Carly system and that's going to cover this video on a Carly Linux into as a virtual machine.
